Diese Beschreibungsbrocken werfe ich den geneigten LeserInnen erfreut hin. Vielleicht, ja vielleicht, setzt sich Allens künstlerischer Aufwärtstrend nach "Anything Else" weiter fort und der Meister läßt uns die ernüchternden Erfahrungen von "Curse of The Jade Scorpion" und "Hollywood Ending" vergessen. (Wobei auch diese beiden Filme ihre qualitätsmäßig versöhnenden Aspekte hatten, nach denen man allerdings mit einem fanmotivierten Wohlwollen doch intensiver Ausschau halten mußte.)

Ja, Anything Else war schon sehr toll. Auch Ain't it Cool ist im übrigen richtig begeistert von dem Melinda-Film: "This is Woody on top form. I hesitate to say one of his top five films because that would already be jostling with Purple Rose, Annie Hall, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Manhattan, Love & Death, Everyone Says I Love You, Bullets Over Broadway, Crimes & Misdemeanors and Hannah And Her Sisters in my book, but it’s up there. It is a great blend of slapstick and cerebral comedy, like Broadway Danny Rose or Bullets Over Broadway." Und sogar eine Oscarnominierung für's Drehbuch wird vom Autor verlangt.
Nach Anything Else bin ich nun: Ganz, ganz wuschig!
